LNR Property of Florida has received the opportunity to perform a major redevelopment of northern Blount Street area. This land, containing historic properties, has been owned by the state government, which used many of the properties for office space.

The redevelopment plans are for a recreation of the neighborhood. Up to 25 homes will be restored. Extensive new development will also be added including about 500 townhomes, condos or single family houses. Over 100,000 sq. feet of retail is also planned.

This plan will continue and greatly expand a general revitalization of the area near Peace College. Earlier projects include the Cotton Mill revitalization and the Seaboard Station warehouses.
