The steep hill behind Crabtree Valley Mall has been aproved for conversion into development Crabtree Village.
This will involve significant grading to the hill and will increase rate of drainage into Crabtree Creek
right at a flood point. Additionally because of the steep grade, developers intend to strip the top 50 feet
of the historic hill right off.
This project is planned in two phases with the first already approved. The first phase includes
up to 749 residences and 160,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
A second phase could include up to 150 hotel rooms, additional retail and office space not to
exceed 200 feet height.
